On the 9th August 2022, I found a small growth on my dog Bonnie’s front leg. The growth looked similar to a blood blister, as Bonnie was not bothered by the small benign growth I decided to leave it alone and monitor. However, a few weeks later the growth bleed and got bigger. Bonnie was now starting to lick and chew at the benign growth, which caused it to bleed another two times, each time getting slightly bigger. At this point I decided to take her to the vet to get it looked at. The vet was confident that is was a benign growth, but due to its location it would need to be surgically removed soon. Having the reassurance from the vet that the growth was unlikely to be sinister, I went straight home and did a meridian balance assessment for her.

Life History
I adopted Bonnie from the RSPCA when she was aprox. 6 months old, she was rescued from a backyard breeder where she and her brother were living in an outside cage, exposed to the elements. She was extremely nervous and had very little experience of the outside world or people. She showed signs of extreme separation anxiety to me almost immediately after coming home. She has a history of bad reactions to her puppy vaccines, has had multiple surgeries due to her spay operation going wrong and her spleen being damaged during the initial operation. She was on prolonged anti-biotics due to her not healing well post 5 surgeries and developing a recurring Staph infection. Later on she began to show signs of inflammatory reactions through out her body and recurring fungal skin infections, that Neomi David is supporting her with a herbal tincture.
Meridian imbalances
1st MBA Results:
Bonnie had imbalances of her conception vessel, governing vessel, heart, small intestine, bladder, kidney, liver and spleen-pancreas (immune). Her priorty meridian out of balance was her heart meridian.
Aromatics for selection
Carrot seed (Daucus carota) EO in Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)infused oil: is beneficial for poor skin, slow healing wounds, especially anytime there has been abandonment. It is also beneficial for rebalancing the heart meridian. Comfrey infused oil is beneficial for proud flesh, scar tissue and when their are long running emotional wounds.
Rose (Rosa damascena) Absolute in Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) infused oil: is beneficial for hormonal imbalances, liver deficiency and nervous restlessness. Lavender infused oil is beneficial for various skin complaints such as proud flesh, wounds, and stress related skin conditions. It has a special affinity with shy, timid animals who have a strong need for connection. Rose is also beneficial for rebalancing the heart meridian.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) EO in Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) infused oil: is beneficial for stress-related skin conditions, wounds, proud flesh, swellings and to support other oils. Lavender is also beneficial for rebalancing the heart meridian.
Lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus) hydrosol in spring water: is emotionally invigorating and helps to clear out stagnate energies, while grounding the individual. Lentisk is also beneficial for immune modulation, tumours and wounds.
Topical: Bentonite clay (highly absorptive, hydrating and protective), lentisk hydrosol, carrot seed EO, lavender EO, comfrey infused oil and lavender infused oil.
Response to Aromatics
Bonnie showed a keen interesting in all of the aromatics and the topical. She consistently selecting to interact with the carrot seed in comfrey via inhalation and ingestion for two weeks. Her interest in inhaling the lentisk hydrosol had reduced by day 4. At the end of two weeks her interest in the rose and lavender essential oil had reduced to a moderate inhalation response. She was still selecting her topical and would allow me to apply it twice aday, occassionally she was lick some from my hand during the application. At this point the growth had reduce significately in size and was no longer bleeding, she also was no longer licking and chewing at it either.

As you can see the growth has reduce to a flat ‘skin-tag like’ growth. As she was still showing a moderate interest in the aromatics and topical, and there was still some proud skin. I did a re test of her meridians to see if she needed any change in support aromatics.
2nd MBA Results:
On her re-test Bonnie had imbalances of the conception vessel, kidney, triple warmer (adrenal) and liver. Her priority meridian was now her kidney meridian.
Aromatics for selection
Carrot seed (Daucus carota) EO in olive (Olea europaea) oil: for continued support for skin healing. Olive oil is beneficial for soothing, nourishing and strengthening the skin, as well as being anti-inflammatory and highly nutritive.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) EO in lavender infused oil: for continued support for her stress-related skin condtions, wounds, proud flesh, swellings and to support other oils.
Violet leaf (Viola odorata) absolute in arnica (Arnica cordifolia) infused oil: is beneficial for rebalancing the kidney meridian, as well as being anti-inflammatory and a diuretic. Arnica infused oil is beneficial for speeding up the healing process and boosting circulation.
Lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus) hydrosol in spring water: is emotionally invigorating and helps to clear out stagnate energies, while grounding the individual. Lentisk is also beneficial for immune modulation, tumours and wounds.
Juniper berry (Juniperis communis) hydrosol in spring water: is a powerful diuretic and supports kidney function. It can also be useful as a psychic protector and cleanser, for those who become over whelmed in crowds. I believe this came up as the day before the re-test Bonnie had attended a large event meeting lots of people and dogs at the Great Global Greyhound Walk, and she needed some support to cleanser her aura from the event and juniper berry was the perfect aromatic ally for the job as it also helps to rebalance the kidney meridian.
Topical: recipe stayed the same as before.
Response to Aromatics
Bonnie showed a moderate interest in the lavender, carrot seed via inhalation, that gradually reduced over two weeks. She showed a keen interest in the juniper berry, lentisk and violet leaf. Over the two weeks she consistently selected the violet leaf in arnica infused oil, both via inhalation and orally. I believed that she remained interested in the violet leaf and arnica due to the fact that during this time she injured two of her paws.
Nutrition and management suggestions
Bonnies diet did not need to be change, however, she would benefit from some seaweed and fresh spring or filtered water.
Final outcome
Bonnie’s growth has now completely healed and there is no sign of scaring to her skin. Going forward I shall continue supporting Bonnie with aromatics, herbs and a regular meridian balance assessment to monitor her process, as her body continues to rebalances its self.
